A Local's Guide To Lunch In Dubai

Dubai is one destination that is extravagant in every way, be it hotels, shopping or food. Brunch is an Instagram-worthy experience that flows over a few hours as foodies bite into lavish, decadent meals that will make your weekend brunch seem like a quick appetizer.

Here are some of the most heavenly, lip-smacking, mouthwatering brunch spots that shouldn’t be missed.

The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah serves a decadent brunch titled Unforgettable Secret Garden Brunch. As the title reveals, brunch is served in an exclusive secret garden in an indoor garden dining area. Their own organic produced fruits and vegetables are served at brunch. Some of their dishes to try, include the tandoori prawn, cheese with honey and truffle sauce, braised beef and don’t miss the triple cooked chips with truffle butter.

If you have a group of friends who are not sure what they’d like to have for brunch, Saffron is your brunch spot. With over 220 dishes to choose from, this international restaurant flaunts a Southeast Asian influence. From dim sum and fresh seafood to pizzas, burgers and steaks, their stations serve it all. With top 40 and R&B on loud, this place truly comes alive. The decadent desserts are also quite the treat.

For local Emirati cuisine, check out the Zaman Awal Restaurant in Al Boom Tourist Village. One of the must-try dishes here is the Luqaimat, a sweet deep fried dumpling that will give your tastebuds a truly authentic taste of Dubai. Also, try the bread khameer which is served with honey and cheese. Sometimes a local brunch is often the most memorable.

For a relaxed brunch with the family and kids, the Seagrill on 25° restaurant at Fairmont the Palm is your go-to. The seaside view is enough to make your heart leap. From fresh seafood platters to grilled meats and Greek salads, the Mediterranean cuisine is a BBQ brunch you don’t want to miss.

OKKU is a luxury Japanese restaurant in H Hotel Dubai. Serving a delicious a la carte menu of award-winning dishes, OKKU is one of my favorites. Their disco sushi brunch is a 16-course meal with classic HuShiHu Yuan crispy duck salad, wasabi tiger shrimps and the spicy California maki. It transports you back to the 80s with their themed music and fine dining.
