5 Questions With Krystin Lee Of Suburban Faux-Pas

Bloggers have this uncanny ability to send us on an adventure both near and far. Their dreamy snaps inspire wanderlust in all of us and act as a city guide no matter the destination.

These social muses possess a keen editorial eye and a willingness to try new trends, and for that, we thought we would spotlight another personal favourite. Krystin Lee’s love of all things fashion fills our feeds with chic and stylish inspiration. With nods to decor and dreamy vacations, this is one blog you absolutely need to bookmark.

Here are 5 questions (and answers) with Krystin Lee of Suburban Faux-Pas.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?

“Hi, Everyone! I’m Krystin from the lifestyle blog, Suburban Faux-Pas. I started it as a passion project over 5 years ago when my husband and I found ourselves in the suburbs rather than city living. Determined to prove that regardless of one’s postal code, a stylish lifestyle can prevail – the blog also served as a creative outlet while working in PR. To this day, I continue to work full time as a Social Media Strategist but enjoy keeping regular content posted to the blog and Instagram. We’ve expanded to include so many more topics in the past few years such as travel, decor, beauty and can’t wait to see what’s next for the blog :)”

2. What Instagram filter or editing app do you swear by?

“Oh goodness, there are too many! I’d say my top favourites of the moment are Snapseed, ColorStory and Pic Tap Go for photo editing. I also love Planoly for planning out my content in advance to make sure my feed appears more cohesive for my audience.”

3. What are your top 5 cities, and what trips do you have lined up this year?

“Oof – that’s a tough one! I’d have to say top 5 cities we’ve visited are: Positano, Marrakesh, Napa, St. Bart’s and West Palm Beach. So far for this year, we’ve got plans to visit Palm Springs, Charleston and fingers crossed we make it to the south of France for summer!”

4. What city served you the best meal, and what was it?

“This one is easy: Dar Yacout in Marrakesh. It’s the most magical and beautiful restaurant setting we’ve ever seen. It’s a multiple course menu with free-flowing cocktails and wine which is hard to pass up. But the food was delightful and quite possibly, the best lamb dish we’ve ever had. The setting is very romantic and I’d highly, highly recommend a visit with that special someone.”

5. What are the pieces you never leave home without?

“I don’t ever leave home without my laptop, card carrying case, a Lonely Planet guide book, Canon 6D, travel camera, iPhone, a sleeping mask and cozy socks for the airplane or chilly hotel rooms!”
